Knowledge Qualifications (VRQS/PRINCIPLES)
These are nationally-recognised, vocationally-related qualifications (VRQs) which provide the essential knowledge to do a job.
Many Level 1/2 VRQs are an essential component of the Sector Skills Council’s Apprenticeship framework.
How do you get one?
Full or part-time basis at an IMI approved centre
Through training, and undertaking practical and online assessments
Typically each level is completed in an academic year
Who is it suitable for?
This engaging and motivating Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) is generally aimed at learners 14-19 years old, who have a keen interest to learn about maintenance of Light Vehicles and the different roles that are available in the retail motor industry.
This qualification consists of a combination of units from:
- Health and Safety practices
- Foundation Skills
- Personal Social Development (PSD)
- Light Vehicle
- Electrically Propelled Awareness
Learners are required to choose units, specific to their needs, across the listed groups above to achieve this Diploma. Some units within this route are additional units, which allows the learner to develop knowledge not only in Light Vehicle but other means of transport. This Light Vehicle route allows learners to have the flexibility to develop their knowledge and skills across a variety of specialist areas to prepare them for further studies and potentially enter into a job role they desire in the future.
